Two days of doll-making workshop with all materials provided. We will be making a 14″ doll with traditional face, ears, and little buttocks. For the hair of the doll, we will be using Mohair Weft, which you will be making into a wig by crocheting.
It is not necessary to have doll-making experience for this workshop(although it can be useful), but hand sewing embroidering and basic crochet skills are needed. This workshop is more suitable for people who are experienced sewers.
The full price is £260 for the workshop and the materials for making your doll. After the workshop you will receive a tutorial and pattern for the doll we have made. The full amount is payable at the workshop. With the £50 deposit you secure your space.
The deposit is unrefundable.
Once you have payed the deposit I will get in touch with details and skin colour and hair colour options.
Making a doll just from some warm soft wool and doll jersey just using your hands is a wonderful experience. All dolls have their own little personality. Come and spend a couple of days with some like-minded people and get creative.
On both days ( 8-9th October ) it will be from 9 am till 6 pm. On Sunday we might finish earlier. I will try to make sure that you will be going home with a ready Waldorf doll.
All of the sewing work in the two days will be hand-stitching. We will not use sewing machines. I will be presewing the body of the dolls with a sewing machine.
This doll making workshop will cover, making and shaping the head of a traditional Waldorf doll, stuffing the limbs, stitching the body together, crocheting hair using mohair weft and embroidering the eyes and the mouth of your doll. You can add ears to your doll, and little knees and buttocks.
If you can not crochet please let me know and I can crochet the wig for you for an additional £30. You will need to let me know in advance, as it takes a long time, so I will not be able to do it on the weekend if there are too many.
We will not have time to make a dress for the doll, but there will be dresses , knitted clothes and leather booties available to purchase and you will be provided with patterns for making some outfits for your doll. Dresses will start from £15.
The class will be small in order to give more teaching time and support to participants.
You will need to bring your own lunch for Saturday, but refreshments will be provided.
There will be some meals offered for additional charges.
I am working on the tutorial of this doll. After the workshop you will receive the pattern for the doll you have made and once the tutorial is ready you will receive a tutorial as wel
